AKS-FAB is a streetwear brand, founded by Cole Ackerman in 2022 with a focus on creating unique, individual garments for creative people. Some garments are hand-sewn from thrifted or second-hand fabrics, and others are upcycled with different techniques - screenprinting, bleaching, dying, sewing, and embroidery.  Any creative process we can experiment with, we will. 'AKS' is short for ack's (Cole Ackerman is the designer) and 'FAB' is short for fabrication.

FAQ

Warren Cole Ackerman is a Chicago-based multidisciplinary artist working in fashion, film, and sculptural material exploration. He is the founder of AKS-FAB, an independent fashion label known for its one-of-one, upcycled garments created from unconventional and repurposed materials.

Raised between New York, San Francisco, Hong Kong, and Boston, Cole's global upbringing deeply informs his approach to language, collaboration, and self-expression. His work challenges systems of waste and consumerism by transforming discarded materials into wearable art, reframing sustainability as both aesthetic and ethical practice.

Beyond his studio work, Cole operates his brand independently — managing production, creative direction, digital marketing, and event-based sales — cultivating an international following of over 12,000. His work has received recognition, including 1st Place at ASVOFF 24 Climate Warriors and the SCAD Fashion Challenge.

He is currently pursuing a BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he continues to explore interdisciplinary approaches to material, identity, and collective creative spaces.
