Custom Commissions

AKS-FAB offers custom commissions for those looking to create something beyond our current inventory. Whether you’ve been inspired by a past aks-fab piece, have a specific fabric in mind, or want to develop a garment from scratch, commissions allow us to collaborate one-on-one to bring your idea to life.

Each commission is made with the same care, intention, and hands-on process that defines the brand.

What Can Be Commissioned?

Custom commissions are open to a wide range of garments and projects, including (but not limited to):

  • Hoodies, sweatshirts, jackets, and outerwear

  • Pants, jeans, and trousers

  • Shirts, flannels, and tops

  • Reworks or alterations of existing garments

  • Custom pieces inspired by previous aks-fab releases

Fabric Options

You have two ways to approach fabric sourcing:

1. Client Provided Fabric
You may send or bring your own fabric to be used in the commission. This is a great option if you already have a material with personal or creative significance.

2. aks-fab Sourced Fabric
We can source fabric on your behalf based on your vision, budget, and intended use. Fabric costs will be discussed and approved before work begins.

Pricing Structure

Custom commissions are priced transparently using the following formula:

Hourly Labor Rate: $25 per hour
+ Fabric Costs (if applicable)
+ Shipping & Handling

Once we discuss your project, I will provide:

  • An estimated total number of hours

  • A cost breakdown based on that estimate

Payment Process

To begin a custom commission:

  • A 50% down payment is required upfront, based on the estimated total cost

  • The remaining 50% is due upon completion of the garment

If the final time spent differs from the original estimate, the remaining balance will be adjusted accordingly (up or down) before final payment.

Work will not begin until the initial deposit is received.

Timeline

Turnaround time varies depending on the complexity of the project, current workload, and material availability. Estimated timelines will be discussed during the consultation phase.
