In the summer of 2023, I hand-sewed patches of denim together into a rough pair of jeans. The problem was that they were uncomfortable and difficult to wear. I knew I could do better. After procrastinating for almost a year, I decided to give them another shot. I deconstructed the pants into several messy puzzle pieces that I then aligned, pinned, and sewed together. This time around I experimented with hidden zippers, buttons, and welt pockets. After looking at how far the pants came from the original version, I realized how fulfilling it is to take an old project and rebirth it new using skills, techniques, and knowledge.
